Late Night Shopping was the busiest in years!

This ever popular event, organised by the Chamber, attracted hundreds of shoppers, families and revellers to the Town Centre on Friday evening. There were over 30 stalls, almost all the High Street shops were open, many providing refreshments for their customers, new and old, as well as prize draws, gifts and offers.

The evening was opened by the Town Crier, and entertainment came from the Salvation Army, Malmesbury Melody Makers and the Athelstan Players, plus a visit from Father Christmas on behalf of the Rotary Club. Of particular note was the effort made by Leonard Walker Butchers, who sold burgers and hot dogs all night, with all the proceeds going to Wiltshire Air Ambulance and raising over £500 on the night!

“It has been a great success” said Paul Baker, Chairman of Malmesbury Chamber, “to see the Town Centre so busy is brilliant and shows that there is a real desire for a healthy and vibrant High Street. The atmosphere was fantastic and I think all of the businesses did a roaring trade. My thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible”.

The next event that the Chamber is organising is the Malmesbury Home Improvement Show in February.
