The aim of the Chamber of Commerce is to look after the commercial interest of its members. By virtue of our activities we are able to contribute significantly, in various ways to the community.
The main functions of the Chamber are:
The Chamber organises various activities on behalf of local businesses, including a Trade and Community Show Malmesbury Alive and Kicking which took place in the Town Hall on October 3rd. Many businesses and local organisations exhibited, and the event was judged to be a success and will probably be repeated in 2010. It was organised in conjunction with Malmesbury Town Council and we are grateful for all the support they provided.
The Chamber supports the local community in other ways by organising Christmas late night shopping, held last year on Friday December 4th. It included:
Committee meetings are held bi-monthly, some of which are ‘Open Executive Meetings’ where all members are welcome. A recent innovation has been joint meetings with Cricklade and Wootton Bassett Chambers, where issues common to all three towns have been discussed.
